This will continue to be a blog for classes taught at Klamath Community College in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The first two classes focused on the psychology and philosophies of peace. The text, Peace is the Way, edited by Walter Wink featured the writings from the Fellowship of Reconciliation. Contributors included A.J. Muste, Martin Luther King Jr. Daniel Berrigan, and Thich Nhat Nanh. It included the writings of Noble Peace Prize Laureates.
This fall, I will be offering a course, The Psychology of Genocide. The text will be Will Genocide Ever End? will be supplemented with “Power Point” presentations based on various resources. The slides are mostly words describing the genocides that are less known to the general public.
I am hoping enough students will enroll so the class can run. Knowledge is the first step in understranding the past to help divert such tragedy in the future.
Genocide continues in Darfur and the Sudan as I write this.
